About
I worked as a computer consultant, database designer, and corporate trainer for many years before returning to school for my MFA (Wichita State 2010, Creative Writing) and my PhD (Illinois State 2015, English Studies). I’ve taught English classes for the past 9 years. My teaching specialty is technical and professional writing, and I particularly enjoy working with STEM majors.
My research interests include tech comm pedagogy, neuroscience and adult education, open-source technical writing, and genre theory and writing research. My general interests include most of the sciences (except math, which I’m bad at), computers and technology, and contemporary politics and culture.
