Dr. Daley (Ph.D. Yale University, A.B. Stanford University, Fellow, Clare Hall, University of Cambridge) has been at Case since 1994. She is Professor of German and Comparative Literature. She was chair of DMLL (2000-2002) and Director of Women’s and Gender Studies (2003-2007). She is the author of Women of Letters  (1998) and Great Books by German Women (2022) and has published articles on Goethe’s poetry including his Faust, the history of Germanics, German popular fiction, and women’s leadership (in Realities and Fantasies of German Female Leadership: From Maria Antonia of Saxony to Angela Merkel, 2019). Her research interests are broad and include much of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century German literature, women authors, poetry, and literary theory.
